'How Worship Should Be Done'

Why are we here? What is our chief purpose? We were created to worship God. That is our chief end, and that is our primary purpose. The shorter catechism acknowledges this reason for our existence with its very first question and answer: 'What is man's chief end? Man's chief end is to glorify God and enjoy him forever.' We were made for worship. There is a compulsion within every human being to worship something or someone. The truth is that if we don't worship God then we don't worship nothing we will worship anything.

Where do we learn how to worship? Where do we learn what kind of worship pleases God? We learn this from the Scriptures. There are few passages in the Bible that better shows us how to worship than chapter 4 of Revelation which opens a door for us into heaven and gives us a glimpse of all creation joining together to worship God.

  1. True worship is the worship of God alone
  2. True worship adores God for His attributes
  3. True worship Is ceaseless worship
  4. The fullest worship is worship with others
