If we are justified through faith and not by works then surely it doesn't matter how we live? Aren't we free to carry on sinning so that God can show forth his grace all the more? This is the objection that Paul has already anticipated and that he now addresses.
Paul's argument in chapter 6 is that being justified by faith is not simply a matter of having accepting Jesus as our Saviour at some point in the past, it is also about a living relationship whereby we also submit to Jesus as Lord from day by day. This will mean a radically new of life. For Paul justification leads to sanctification - the process by which we seek to become more like Jesus.
