Today we complete our studies in Daniel as we look at God's final words to his faithful servant in chapter 12.
Its intention is to encourage God's persecuted people to persevere to the end for at the end of the age God will grant them the resurrection to eternal life.
Main Points:
- We will have security in the greatest trouble
- We will know certainty in the fiercest trial
- We will endure in the darkest days
- We have direction for the present time
Application Questions:
- When things go badly for you because of your resolve to live as a Christian what is your first reaction? What have you learnt from Daniel 12 that might change this reaction?
- What does the New Testament teach us about the nature and timing of the resurrection to eternal life? You may want to look at 1 Corinthians 15:35-58, 1 Thessalonians 4:1-18 & Revelation 7:9-17.
- How have our studies in Daniel helped us to see the things of this world from God's perspective? How are these truths also seen in Jesus?
eg. Daniel has repeatedly shown us that God never loses control of events even when those events may seem terrible. The cross of Christ exemplifies this most graphically.
