A welcoming church not only preaches the gospel but also conveys the relational warmth of the gospel. We have been brought into this diverse family that bears Christ’s name and we are called to honour is name by allowing his grace and mercy to transform the way we think about ourselves and everyone else.
Action Steps:
- Reflect regularly on how Christ gently and graciously welcomed you.
- Ask God to search your heart for any pride or prejudice that you might have.
- Be on the look out for visitors on Sundays.
Welcome others with that kind of warmth and hospitality.
The only thing you have to lose is the sin that entangles you; so repent and allow God to change you, making you more like Jesus.
Do whatever you can to welcome them personally. Don’t attend the Sunday service as a consumer watching the show but as a minister eager to welcome and to bless others.
