Our Email
Send any resources to av@railwaystreet.org.
General Information
Within the church building, we have the ability to project slides and videos. We can also live stream into other parts of the building and to YouTube.
Slides, videos and any other resources should be provided in advance by email. We cannot accept pen drives or any USB removable media to move files onto our PC.
We cannot project native PowerPoint or Keynote presentations. Presentations should be exported as images.
Please provide us with a short script / outline of your talk with the slide numbers that need presented, to allow the AV team to follow along and display the appropriate slide at the appropriate time.
Guides
Here is some information to help you in producing your presentation, exporting it and sending it to us. Click these to expand and read.
Here are some tips to ensure your presentation is readable in the building.
- Keep slides high contrast. Avoid the overuse of colour. Don't use gradient or mid-tone backgrounds.
- If you are presenting:
- during daylight: use a white background with black text.
- during the evening/darkness: use a black background with white text.
- Don't incorporate slide animations. If you need to 'bring elements in', for example, to reveal multiple photos, build these as multiple slides.
- Don't make images and text small, people will be reading these from a distance of over 20 meters.
These instruction demonstrate how to export, from PowerPoint 16 running on Mac. Windows users should be similar.
To export your slides as images, click File > Export.
In the popup, set the following values:
- File Format: JPEG
- Ensure Checked: Save Every Slide
- Width: 1920
- Height: 1080
- Choose your export name as appropriate
- Choose a location to save these slides to. You'll be attaching them shortly so export to a location that is easy to find.
If you'd like a PowerPoint file correcly setup to use as a starting point to build your presentation, you can download this file.
If you have other resources to use (for example video files, YouTube videos or audio files), these should also be provided by email.
As video files can be quite large, here is some information on how best to provide these.
